We have glass.
So this week our stacker door glass finally arrived and was installed. Apparently we’re still missing a piece of rubber seal, but I guess this means they can move on to finishing the painting and other touch-ups required. Such a relief.
We were expecting to receive our certificate of occupancy this week, as our site supervisor had indicated it would be sent through while he was away, however I am not surprised that it failed to arrive.
Have to say that we have most definitely NOT received the weekly update call from our building coordinator that Porter Davis promises in their charter. All up, we’ve received at most three unprompted email updates from our building coordinator – that’s an average of an email (not a call) every 5 weeks or so… hmmm. Our site supervisor has been better at calling when there are issues or other matters that need to be discussed and thankfully though these conversations and our visits we have been kept abreast of our build progress. I would have to say that my experience with Porter Davis this time has been one of “over-promise and under-deliver” particularly in the administration activities in the lead up to build beginning. Really hoping that things improve for the final few weeks so our handover is smooth.
Hopefully the absence of our certificate of occupancy doesn’t mean we’ll have to delay our Practical Completion Inspection, which our supervisor had said would be happening on 18 or 19 October… we’ll just have to wait and see.
