Lock-up in action!
The week started positively with a small celebration at work to mark my five years with the company, where I received the gift of a blue-ray media player, which will be staying inside it’s box until we arrive in our new abode!
Tuesday improved on that, when during a meeting with our site supervisor at the house we stumbled upon a veritable small army of plasterers busily attaching plaster sheets to our walls and ceiling! Our site supervisor delivered the terrific news that our house was currently tracking a little ahead of schedule and all going well would be finished before the anticipated 20 week deadline.
We definitely appreciate the efficiency of the Porter Davis build experience we have enjoyed so far – it’s obvious our progress has surpassed those of our neighbours’, whose builds started before ours! Fingers crossed it continues through to the end!!
During our visit on Tuesday we decided to try-out the Woodlea cafe, Go West, for lunch, and I can only praise the service and the food! Fresh, fast and delicious! We will definitely become regulars once we move in, I can see many lazy Sunday spent strolling down there for a coffee and a croissant!
By the time we got back to see the house again on Saturday, we were amazed to see the plastering had been completed, cornices were installed and even the down pipes had been connected.

Downpipes have also been installed:
On Saturday we also headed out to collect the pendant lights for over our kitchen bench that we ordered from Schots Home Emporium a couple of weeks ago. While there we also purchased pendants for our rumpus and main bedroom. Definitely a theme of copper, black and glass coming through in the lighting. I also have my eye on a fabulous mirror I spotted in Schots, but I think I’ll wait till we’ve actually moved in to purchase any smaller, loose items like that.

Our site supervisor indicated that the kitchen will be installed next week – can’t wait to see my favourite room in the house come to life!
