A week of progress and more progress!
It is a well-known fact that the start of a build moves a lot quicker (or at least seems to move a lot quicker) than the later stages after lock-up when the changes and improvements are not so noticeable.
But even so, this week things have certainly moved at what seems like lightening pace!
Despite the gale-force winds earlier this week, our frame most certainly was completed, as promised by our site supervisor during an introductory call on Tuesday. He indicated that framing would be complete this week (tick), gutters, fascia and roofing next week. Then we face a potential hold-up while we wait for windows to arrive due to the supplier’s change of computer systems causing delays of up to a couple of weeks. We’ll see what happens because as soon as the windows are in it’s time to start bricking!
I guess we can look forward to the frame-stage invoice arriving shortly, even though the bank hasn’t paid PD their first progress payment for slab-stage yet. Apparently CBA have decided that they simply must complete a valuation-inspection visit at the slab stage! Our signatures approving the payment confirming that the works have indeed actually been completed don’t seem to be authority enough! Perhaps I should send them a link to this blog…..
